We started our day with morning meeting and some sharing time. The students are excited to share some of their writing with their classmates. As we share with our classmates, others can get ideas and offer feedback to their peers.
In Daily Five today, we learned how we could practice working on fluency in reading with a partner. Students may choose to do this when they read to someone in Daily Five time.
We had our last scheduled drumming class today. We learned how to play 4 different rhythms together. Ask me how I keep playing my rhythm when the person beside me is playing a different rhythm.
In Math today we practiced using a number lint to help us with subtraction equations. We then had a dice challenge. Ask me to play the dice challenge with you at home tonight. All you need are a couple of die, and you are set to go.
We ended the day with Science. We conducted an experiment. Ask me to explain the experiment to you. What were we investigating?
In Writer's workshop today we had a mini lesson of COPSS. Ask me what COPSS stands for.

I hope you all had an enjoyable long weekend with your families. Today we had a special guest speaker. Jessie FiddlerKiss is an Indigenous Education Specialist with the CBE. She shared with us a few of her special belongings and the stories that they told. We learned about Metis culture and the special ways that stories are shared in her culture.
We also had drumming this morning. We are getting quite good with drumming together. It helps us to say the rhythms out loud softly to help keep the beat. Ask me to share one of the rhythms we learned today.
