I have sent home the supervision fees tax receipts with your child! They are in the backpacks :)
We had drumming today! The children are getting ready for their assembly-which is March 14th at 6:30!
We are listening to many presentations from the children who have completed their animal research projects. They are very excited to share and learn about other animals!
We are continuing to look at the patterns in multiplication to help us remember multiplication facts.
We are almost finished our animal cycle work and will be switching back to Social studies.
Today, we created some life cycle clay projects. They are turning out to be so creative!! We will be continuing our work on these next week too.
We had gym with the other classes. It was SO fun-a big game of bench ball.
We worked on our projects.
We had a special guest in our room today! My daughter, Olivia, was here and she brought a snake! Her name is pumpkin and she is a corn snake. She is such a gentle pet, and the children asked a lot about how to care for her and the life cycle!
We have drumming again next week!
I will be sending home the receipts for the lunch room fee for taxes.

Today, we painted our clay elephants They look so great! Soon, the children will be creating their life cycle out of clay.
We have started our multiplication unit today! We looked at patterns that will help us remember...for example, the 0's, the 1's, the 2's, 10's and 11's! The children are seeing that multiplication really is not that difficult :)
If possible, it is a great idea to practice regrouping wth subtraction and addition to keep the skills sharp.
We are printing our art and writing and our research projects! They are coming together so nicely!
We will be sharing those at student led conferences!

We learned about amphibians this morning! We ;earned about some amazing facts!
We practiced our math facts again. We are going to have a test on Wednesday for the addition and subtraction with regrouping :)
Teacher's Convention is this Thursday and Friday. No school for students.
Family Day is on Monday.
We did some more drumming today! The children absolutely love it! They are always smiling :)
We are continuing to work on our projects. Children are welcome to do research, print out pictures, and get some interesting facts at home. The google docs can be connected at home.
We are continuing our work on regrouping. If you wish, there are sheets that you can do, mathdrills.com is fantastic.

Next week is Teacher's Convention :) No school on Thursday and Friday.
Monday is Family Day, so there is no school then either.
Today, we worked on our ongoing projects :) They are almost finished!
We are refining our addition and subtraction with regrouping (borrowing and carrying over). We are getting very close to moving on to multiplication!
We started our drumming yesterday! It was so amazing and fun to watch the children. I have taken pictures for the yearbook!
Pizza fun lunch tomorrow.
We have heard that the snow is on its way! It is supposed to start at 7pm!
Today, we developed some subtraction games using playing cards. The children came up with up some new games.
We worked on our projects again. We are so proud of them!
We had indoor recess this morning, but we went outside at lunch time.

We talked about Valentine's Day today with the children, and asked them how they wanted to celebrate the day. The children voted on various options, and decided snacks will be up to the students. If you would like to bring something, you can, if not, of course, that is ok too!
