The afternoon the students were busy as they got started on their animal research. I gave them 6 websites to check out. I took some of them to the library and we found quite a few books on different animals. You may find that your child has brought home a book so they can continue reading about their animal. We also discuss the importance of writing notes in their own words rather than copying someone else's sentences. The students were so engaged that we spent an hour and a half on this project. Ask your child what they learned about heir animals.
This morning the class learned how to make the letters Qq and Uu in handwriting.
For math, we divided into two groups--one group worked on an addition strategy called "bridge to 10". Ask your child to give you an example of how to do this. The other group worked with me on learning or further practising 3-digit addition with regrouping.
Report card envelopes need to be returned—I am waiting for 5 more:R-----, S-----, C-----, A----, A----
