It was great to be back to a regular routine and get back together. We continue to work on two major projects: our animal research and Art and Writing. My goal is to have everyone done their Art and Writing project by the end of the week.
In Math, we started multiplication. In grade 3, students need to understand what it means to multiply and what it means to memorize the times tables. We talked about the 0, 1, 2, 10 and 11 times tables and the number patterns in each. In grade 3, students only need to memorize the facts up to and including 5X5, but of course we will go further if we can. Ask your child how we did mental math today because this is certainly something that can be done at home to practice.
This afternoon we continued to work on our clay elephants.
