Mrs. Brandt's Comment Challenge:  What is a fact you learned in your research today?
JF: In Gym, we played Quaffle Ball and we did a game where we passed to three players.
KC: During Social Studies, students painted their totem poles. We also finished our research.
SR: Today in Music, some of us finished our rhythms. Some of us will be performing them in the  next class.
EV: This morning in math, we were doing 2 digit subtraction with regrouping.  We can practice this at home.
IK: My math group finished our square numbers to 17.
KB: We started publishing our books.
JA: If people want to join the knitting club, they need to pay on line with my CBE.
AB: Yesterday we earned our 1000 points.  We can bring things for our Free Choice party tomorrow.
NE: Finally we did Blog.
LO:  For the free choice party, be responsible for whatever you bring.
JB: Reminders: After Christmas we will have another special lunch.  Remember to order if you want to.

Mrs. Brandt's Comment Challenge: What is a possible solution for this problem?  How many ways can you make 1000 with 500, 250 and 100?
SR: Today in gym, we practiced our throwing for Quidditch.
JZ: Also, we went to the Learning Commons to choose books.
JA: Before lunch, I went to a writing group and practicing writing but at the beginning we did a weird Pac Man thing.
KB: At class time, we had a fire drill.
LO: In math, we did the ostrich and camel problem.  
MT: During school, some of us went to our math group and we continued the same problem as last day.
JF: After Talk Time, we changed 3 boring words into juicy words in our stories.
SA: Please check your emails for an email from Mrs. Brandt.
AB: For Social Studies, we searched more on computers and we started our Totem Poles.

Mrs. Brandt's Comment Challenge:  How many years has Ivan been in captivity if he has been there for 9876 days?
SA: Today in gym, we played practice Quidditch.  It was a  bit like basketball.
JF: Also, in Social Studies, we did our Canadian culture and celebration research.  We found out what our group is working on.
AB: During the morning, We did the solution and conclusion on our stories and wrote about a cute cat picture that looked like Puss N' Boots.
JA: We reviewed our Smarties problems.  I wish it was Skittles not Smarties.
DML: After we did our solution and conclusion, we did handwriting and we did the letters v and w.
EX: In math, we started 3 digit addition.
KG: There was Yoga today at lunch.  Some people went and we did the Reverse Warrior. 
SA: We also did the splits in Yoga.

Mrs. Brandt's Comment Challenge:  Name something that is uniquely Canadian.
*** We are looking for some parent volunteers to work in the classroom  If you have a valid police clearance, we need a volunteer next Tuesday afternoon December 5.
JF: Today, we did our story event 2 and 3.
JA: In gym, we played a game where we would throw a ball.  It was practice of Quidditch.  It kept getting more complicated.
AB: During Music, we watched a video of Middle School kids and some people in a building playing rhythms.
SR: Also, in math, we did some addition and number of the day.  You could do 873 or 3246 for a challenge.
IK: This afternoon we started learning about Canada for our sharing project.
MT: We did this problem: There are 1000 Smarties.  They come in group of 500, 250 and 100.  How many different ways can you make 1000?

Mrs. Brandt's Comment Challenge: What big game is on Sunday? Who is playing and where are they playing?
AB: In gym, we played Hula Hut challenge.
DML: Today, we did Fun SQUIRT and we did the review.  They are in our backpacks.
SA: Some people who weren't finished their culture work, finished today.
SR: Also, it was GT's birthday and we got cupcakes for a snack!
RM:  We watched videos about Noun, Verb, Conjunction, adjectives and pronouns.

Mrs. Brandt's Comment Challenge:
What is  a question that was on the Jeopardy Game?
AB: We played the Jeopardy Game and the questions were not too difficult we just need to do more research.
SR: Today in gym, we played the same game as yesterday. The game is called Quiddich.
MT: In Math, some people went to a math group; we did a new warm up.
JF: During Music, those who were finished their music notes were able to be a helper.
LO: At school we did our event 1 in our story writing.
SA: Outside due to the balmy temperature, there were lots of puddles outside.
JL: My reading group finished our novel, The Dragon's Egg and our drawing of  the Chinese Zodiac.
JB: As a reminder, parents can order food for after Christmas.

Mrs. Brandt's Comment Challenge:  What is one of the religions in the world?
JL: In gym, we played Quiditch.  Instead of flying, we walked on the ground.
MT: At school, my math group worked on a square problem.
SR: Today, is handbells for those in the Everwin group.  This is every Wednesday after school.
AB: We read the One and Only Ivan and Stella died. :(
DML: Also, we did Social Studies where we continued to research about celebrations and traditions and we also did another sentence of our Robert Munsch story.
JF: Additionally, we went to the Learning Commons.
SA: During the other math group, we had 2 digit number questions to solve.  Some of us need to practice our basic facts at home for a game tomorrow.

Mrs. Brandt's Comment Challenge:  Answer this question and explain the strategy you used. 57 + 76 =
JF: Today in gym, we played hula hut challenge.  We had to knock the others down and build our own huts by buying hoops by shooting a ball in a basket on the other side.
MT: At school, there was yoga at lunch.
AB: In math, we answered questions that Mrs. Peers put up.  We had to solve it in two different ways.  ***Some of us need to practice our addition facts to 18.
NE: During our culture and celebration, we added Tunisia and Ukraine and some of us finished Peru and India.
EX: We wrote about the setting of our stories.
SA: Finally, we read more of the One and Only Ivan.  Ruby kept asking Ivan a bunch of questions.  She is the new elephant.
SR: Also, we did Juicy word strips using a thesaurus.
JL: Tomorrow there is the Everwin handbell group has their first practice.
DML: Addtionally, at lunch some of us played outside. I did and we played a game on the playground where it was lava.

Mrs. Brandt's Comment Challenge:  What is a tradition you learned from the videos today?
DML: Today, in gym, we did our warm up, a plank challenge, and we added two new warm ups. We added to the hoop huts where you had to "buy" hoops by throwing balls in a bucket.
AB: In Music, we practiced our rhythm cards. 
MT: At school, we can set a reading goal at home and we get a prize if your parents email Mrs. Brandt when you have met your goal.
SR: Also, we watched videos about different countries like Peru and India.  We wrote things we learned about culture in our visual journals.
GT: During math, we did number of the day.
JF: We had mental math and we wrote the first sentence of our story to introduce the characters.
JA: SM shared her instrument today.  We have seen all the instruments now.
​NE: Finally, we read more of the One and Only Ivan.

Mrs. Brandt's Comment Challenge:  What number is between 200 and 250 and is even and all the digits add up to 8?
NE: In gym, we had Hula Hut challenge.  After the first round they added balls.  After the third round we could rebuild.
DML: Today we did review for home.  It is in our backpacks.  Please sign it and return it.  We wrote about our AMAZING pentominoes!
SR: During Music we played games and we played freeze dance, and wax museum.
KC: At math time, we shared how to solve a problem and there was different ways.  Mrs. Peers our student teacher taught us math today.
SA: Also, we made our classroom clean so that you can walk into a clean classroom tonight.  Students are encouraged to come with parents for conferences.
AB: Reminders: the book fair is during conferences and today is the last day for the cookie dough fundraiser.
IK: My math group wrote about the handshake problem. We started a new problem.
KB: There is no school tomorrow.
GT: Mrs. Brandt read some more Robert Munsch stories and we planned our solutions and conclusions.
