Today we read story, did book club, and wrote in our journals. This has become part of our morning routine. In math, we did our second round of mental math. Today went much better for all students! We also started looking at repeating and growing patterns. Using some shape blocks, we got to create our own growing and repeating patterns. After lunch, we had both music and gym! In Social Studies, we started looking closer at our first of the four countries- India! We talked about how many people live in India compared to Canada, how big India is, and how those things might affect the quality of life in India. We also began looking at different modes of transportation and how homes are built in India.
If your child brought home a Student Information Envelope and has yet to bring it back, please send it in as soon as possible.
Finally, Evergreen's Terry Fox run is coming up on Thursday, September 21st in the morning (8:30-10am). Our School Fundraising link is:
http://www.terryfox.ca/Evergreen. Anyone with access to this link can make a donation and donors automatically receive a tax receipt. We will also be collecting Toonies for Terry at the school. We are looking for parent volunteers to join us on the route, walking with children or standing at checkpoints. Please email Ms. Watkins (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have a current volunteer clearance and can help us that morning.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday night!
