Today we started with story and did book club again. In our journals today, we interviewed a classmate and learned lots of things about each other. Mr. McLaren taught us gym today!
In math today we started doing mental math. We have 1 minute to do as many math questions as we can. It was very challenging but we will get better each day.
We had some catch up time this afternoon to finish working on some math, social studies, and our Me by the Number projects. We were very productive and finished a lot! We also began talking about where Tunisia, Peru, Ukraine and India are on a map. We talked about what we think quality of life is like in each of these countries. We will explore this more over the next few weeks.
Parents, please remember that we go outside for recess and lunch even if it is raining so make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.
As well, if your child brought home a Student Information Envelope and has yet to bring it back, please send it in as soon as possible.
Finally, Evergreen's Terry Fox run is coming up on Thursday, September 21st in the morning (8:30-10am). Our School Fundraising link is:
http://www.terryfox.ca/Evergreen. Anyone with access to this link can make a donation and donors automatically receive a tax receipt. We will also be collecting Toonies for Terry at the school. We are looking for parent volunteers to join us on the route, walking with children or standing at checkpoints. Please email Ms. Watkins (email@example.com) if you have a current volunteer clearance and can help us that morning.
Have an great night!
