PM Kindergarten tomorrow!
Mrs Decottignies morning class and Mrs. Smith’s afternoon classes had drumming today! Now all of the classes have had their first lesson. We have learned that the Djembe a drum from West Africa and is a hand drum. You can play three notes on it, a, b and c. A is a deep sound and says goon. B is a higher sound and says doon. We haven’t learned about c yet.
All of the classes will have a drum class each week for the month of February for a total of four lessons. You will get to see our performance during Student led conferences at one of the centres.
Over the last two days all of the classes have done their February math and me. We are getting much better at showing just what we know about numbers.
We will all be learning about the Olympics, whales and other sea creatures over the next little bit. It will be really exciting, especially when Canada wins a medal!
For Valentines we are asking that you just have your child write “from” with their name. If they address their Valentines it takes a great deal long to deliver them and can be very frustrating for some. Thank you.
We are planning some upcoming field trips! If you are interested in volunteering please make sure you have filled in the online forms and done your police clearance. We will be requiring four adults for each class.
Here is a Spud fundraising contest download from parent council.
Have fun in the snow!
